Why do we need Mentoring?

  • All children need essential building blocks to navigate successfully though life

  • The more “assets” children and youth acquire, the more likely they are to live  productive, happy adult lives.

  •  Mentoring builds assets and helps to build healthy adults and communities.

Students in a mentoring program are:

  •  53% less likely to skip school

  • 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs

  • 33% less likely to hit someone

  • more likely to increase their grades and raise their goals

What can you do?

Becoming a mentor involves committing 30 minutes per week during school hours with an elementary, middle or alternative school student for the school year and hopefully beyond.
