Shawn Lovejoy

Shawn moved to Cumming, Georgia in the summer of 1999 to plant Mountain Lake Church, launching it in January of 2000.  Since that time Mountain Lake has grown to nearly 2000 in attendance in their five weekend services.  When Shawn arrived in Cumming, he had a vision for changing the way people think about church.  Since that time, he has lead Mountain Lake to be a church for people who are disconnected from Christ and the church. 

In 2004 he co-founded ChurchPlanters.com with David Putman, and together they are co-authoring Best Practices of Church Planters.    Through this ministry, Shawn has coached and encouraged hundreds of church planters and emerging church leaders to do what it takes to reach disconnected people. 

Prior to planting Mountain Lake Church, Shawn served on the staff of two other churches.  Before he entered the ministry, he was a young, emerging leader in the business world in the Birmingham, Alabama area where he was involved in real estate development.  He continues to exercise his gift for leadership by leading Mountain Lake Church and investing himself in developing community leaders.

Shawn is married and has three children; two daughters and a son.
